A peace rally organised in Ahmedabad on Tuesday successfully protested against the killings of innocent Christians in various parts of Orissa.

Organised and leaded by the Bishops and Heads of various Christian denominations under the banner of "Gujarat United Christian Forum for Human Rights", thousands of Christians peacefully protested and voiced their concern over the situation in Orissa.

The rally began at 4 pm from CNI Church Victoria Garden and passed through Ellisbridge, Ashram Road, Nehru Bridge, Lal Darwaja and concluded at St. Xavier's School Campus, Mirzapur.

A wonderful unity of Christians living in Ahmedabad was demonstrated on this occasion.

Popular Evangelist Dr. D.G.S Dinakaran died in Chennai, India, at the age of 72, after a struggle with heart and kidney ailments. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on January 29. He passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20.
Family members were at his bedside when he breathed his last. His body was taken to his residence at the Jesus Calls Ministry for public homage.

The Gujarati Chuch of Canada was dedicated on 22nd December, 2007 in North Bamley United Church by Rt. Rev. V. M. Malaviya, Rev. Dr. Nicholas G. Parmar and Dr. Rondo Thomas (Executive Director of Evangelical Association, Canada). Rev. Graham Kennedy (St. Katherine Presbyterian Church) and Rev. Norman Green (United Church of Canada) were the Chief guests. Rev. Mahendara Christie was blessed by the dignitaries so that he can efficiently provide the pastoral care to the congregation.

             On Saturday, July 14, 2007, Indian Christian Federation of Midwest, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois, celebrated its 7th anniversary with an Annual Dinner and Dazzling Culture Program at Devonshire Cultural Center at Skokie, Illinois.  On the occasion of this 7th anniversary celebration, Indian Christian Federation also released a most beautiful brochure to the distinguished guests and members, the entire Devonshire hall was packed.

            Many distinguished guests and honorable invitees attended the cultural program.  The guests included: Congresswoman Honorable Jan Schakowsky, Honorable Mayor of Skokie George Van Dusen, Consul General of India - Mr. Ashok Kumar Attri and his wife Mrs. Usha Kiran Attri, prominent Indian personality from Hindu community and former president of FIA, CEO of Globaltronics - Mr. Niranjan Shah and his wife Mrs. Shah, Muslim community leader and one of the founding fathers of Indo-American Center - Mr.Sher Mohammed Rajput who was recently   honored by the Government of Rajasthan, India, with an award and former president of FIA and present president of South India Hindu Association - Mr. Anil Pillay, former Bishop Nimrod Christian of Methodist Church In India, CEO of All American Bank - Mr. Chako Vargheese, Rev J.B. Singh, Rev (Dr). John Rathod, Rev Timothy Rathod of Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Evanston, Illinois, and many more community leaders.

            Indian Christian Federation of Midwest honored three distinguished ladies for their selfless services in the field of social, charitable, and Indian classical dances which has kept youngsters attached to the Indian tradition and values.  The Honorees included: Mrs. Ruth Vargheese for dedicated services to entire Indian community and participating at all of the Indian Christian Federation's events, as a community participation.  Second recipient was Ms. Trupti Patel, who is very much involved in charity and helping the people of leukemia disease.  Third person was from New York, Dr. Hemlata Parmar, for working uplifting the women society.

            The Gujarat Christian Federation of America, Inc., Brooklyn, New York honored two distinguished members of the Indian Christian Federation, Rev. Timothy Rathod and Mr. Babu Varma for their dedicated services to entire Indo-American community.   Mr. Lamuel Merchant, President of the Gujarat Christian Federation, read the Lifetime Achievement Awards and presented the Awards through the Honorable Consul General of India.

            The dazzling cultural program commenced with a Prayer Song by Naperville Gujarati Christian Group followed by a Devotional Dance by Kalapadma Dance Academy.   The cultural program included various dances and songs by very talented local young artists:  Rangilla Re (Remix Dance) was superbly performed by Payaliya Dance Studio group, there were dances by Darshana Cowper, Riya Saxena, Shalini Saxena, etc.  Girish Christie extended Vote of Thanks on behalf of the Federation.   This was the most successful cutural event of the Federation.
